I don’t know about you, but I love a good love story. It’s just so hard to find a clean romantic flick! Here’s some I’ve found – I’ve watched all these & recommend ‘em. Those with asterisks* are faith-based. So, pop the popcorn & find a comfy place on the couch! Tissues are optional.
Little Women (my favs are the 1949 & 1994 versions)
Anne of Green Gables (& the other Anne films)
Belle & the Beast: A Christian Romance*
The Love Comes Softly Series*
Though None Go With Me*
Miss Potter
Meet Me in St. Louis
Tammy & the Bachelor
Tammy Tell Me True
Tammy & the Doctor
Brigadoon (1954)
Under the Greenwood Tree
The Princess Diaries I & II
Tuck Everlasting
Don’t forget those happily ever after animated Disney films from your little girl days. Many of Jane Austen’s novels turned to film are clean, as well.
Enjoy!

In July I’m planning a movie night where I’ll show one of these flicks here! Stay tuned!
P.S.: I know there are lots of other great clean boy-meets-girl movies, but I’m too tired to think of any more. =) A giant THANK YOU to all who prayed for my interview today! It went great! Even though I don’t know the outcome I’m still praising God. I’ve even begun to praise Him for my job – even though I don’t have it yet, know where it will be, or when He will provide…I’m just already praising! Thank You, God, for helping me today & for whatever job You have in store!
Ohhhh, these are some good movies!
ReplyDeleteThey all sound really good. :)
And you put my ultime favorite Christian Romance on the list..... "Though None Go With Me". :) That movie made me cry so bad. but, i like sad movies so I loved it!
Oh I love chick flicks! :) They always end up making me cry! I really love the Love Comes Softly series, Princess Diaries I & II, and Little Women (the 1994 version, I think). And I also love the Disney princess movies. :)
ReplyDelete"North and South" by BBC is an excellent movie, as is "Emma" (the newer one rocks!) and "Pride and Prejudice" (the older one :)
ReplyDeleteI could not let you talk about good *clean* romantic moves without mentioning those, now could I? *wink*
Allison Elizabeth♥
I am so glad you recommended these, Bess! I can never seem to find any good clean romance movies.
ReplyDeleteAmber
P.S. I love at the bottom you have the "Bess' Creek - Warning: No Fishing!'
ReplyDeleteLOVE that!!
I l♥ve good love stories too!! :D and I love love love The Love Comes Softly Series!!
ReplyDeleteLove in Christ,
Samarah
I loved 'Miss Potter'! The 2005 version of 'Pride and Prejudice' is good, too. A handy tip to see if what you're watching is appropriate...watch it with your grandma! Seriously, that's how I got into 'Miss Potter' and 'Pride and Prejudice'! lol
ReplyDeleteAlso, appropriate TV shows (yes, they do exist!)...there's one called 'The Vicar of Dibley'. It's English and it stars Dawn French, so you know it's good. :) (Only the later serieses get pretty rude...maybe just stick with the first two serieses!)
God bless.
Bess,
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! Most of the movies you have on there I have seen and I absolutely LOVE! I just recently watched Though None Go With Me, and I was very impressed.
And I'm wanting to see Miss Potter. Have you seen or read Jane Eyre? Some of the things you've talked about apply to her story.
Your sister in Christ,
Liz Darcy
