Hi girls... Late yesterday my parents came home from the doctor... My stepfather has stage 4 cancer - it's very rare & aggressive & can only be treated, not cured. Please pray for him, my mom, & family. He starts his 1st 6 hour chemo treatment Wednesday. It's especially hard cause my real {amazing} dad died about 10 years ago, my stepfather & I have had a strained relationship in the past...not to mention I'm moving into my 1st apartment the day before he starts his treatment. Please pray... God can work miracles. If he doesn't get treatment he could die in 6 months...if he gets treatment (& it works) it may prolong his life for 4 or 5 years after the treatment is complete. What do you do when you know you may only have 4 or 5 years left? I'm working on trusting God & leaning upon Him.
Love you all & thanks for your prayers -they mean so much.

Bess,
ReplyDeleteI will be praying for him! I'm so sorry.
I also wanted to share some encouraging words with you, we know a couple, and her husband had colon failure (I think it was colon failure) and the doctors gave him 3 days to live. So his daughter came back from Japan, and low and behold! Hes up and moving, though hes not still out of the woods, Gof worked a BIG miracle! SO hang in there, and I'll be praying for you and your family.

I want to cry. I am so sorry! But yes God CAN work miracles. You know that song by Merideth Andrews that goes, "Before a heartache could ever touch my life, it has to go through Your hands." I love you, -Bess-. I ate a cinnamon bun today (a healthy one=) & thought of you--wishing we were both eating one & saying "worry does nothing" at the same time. There's a time for everything. Right now I guess we're in the "thick". But one day we're gonna be two {married} old ladies sitting on the front porch of either of our paid off houses, sipping hot tea & eating sticky cinnamon rolls laughing & saying, "Wow. What a life. It was awesome!" And I can't wait to meet you! I already confessed that we will, so it's just a matter of time ;) Until I can "bestow" on you or whatever a friendly hug, I'm gonna keep "online air" hugging you. ((Bess)) (I think that's what an online hug looks like). You're in my prayers sweet friend.

I'm praying for your stepfather and your family!
ReplyDeleteJust prayed :) I'm praying that God will heal him in such a way that the doctors treating him will be in awe of our great God, and that should the time come soon when your step-father is called back home, that you and the rest of your family will rejoice, knowing he's with the King of Kings...
ReplyDeleteThis must be such an awful situation to be in. I'm asking for blessings and peace to overflow in your life instead of grief and worry.
God bless!
I am so sorry, Bess; I will certainly be praying for you and your family and for your stepfather.
