June is just around the corner sneakily teasing us from the wings, waiting for the curtain call. It certainly feels “June” hot. Did you know that June is the most popular month for weddings? If you’re like me you did. I wouldn’t say I’m obsessed with tulle, masterpiece cakes, bouquets, & all that, but I do like to think about it at times. Yes, I have a couple of bridal magazines I’ve been known to skim through on a whim (left over from my sister’s wedding), & I’ve mulled over the idea of going to J.C. Penney’s to try on a white formal gown & snapping a photo of this prime Kodak moment, but I’ve never actually done it (lost the nerve, I guess=). As the years move on I feel I’m thinking bridal-ly more & more…afterall, friends & past classmates are tying the knot right & left (or so it seems). It’s hard to not wonder, “When’s my turn, Lord? Is there truly someone out there for me? Is it worth the wait?” You know, I can’t truthfully answer the first 2 questions…because I simply don’t know, but I do know that God fully knows the desires of my heart & has given me these dreams for a purpose. Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the LORD & He will give you the desires of your heart.” The last question I can honestly answer. Yes, it’s worth the wait. So, without further ado…
As May winds down (along with Jane’s “Picture Book Month”), & the season of brides & grooms comes upon us, I thought I’d leave you with a story of purity written for children & read by the author herself. Sometimes little girls & big girls need to hear the same thing.
If you plan to be a part of this celebration please consider taking one of these buttons for your sidebar with a link back to Bess' Bag. Not sure how to do this, read below for instructions. Thanks! Can't wait for June, girls!
Love,
-Bess-

What a beautiful idea! =D I am passionate for purity, and would love to keep up with this June celebration...by the way, I LOVE thinking of weddings too...so beautiful. = )
Wonderful post! You know, over the past year or so, I had a real eye-opener about marriage and purity especially since I had just become a teenager. I have been reading 'Before you Meet Prince Charming' by Sarah Malley and reading it has really helped me understand the concept of waiting for your knight in shining armor, and to make the most of the time that the Lord blessed us with in your 'single years.' I will be more than happy to join your purity and romance celebration and right after finishing this comment, I am going to paste the pic. on my blog. Hope you are having the most wonderful of summer day, dearest friend! Sisters in Christ, Grace P.S. I am with you on browsing through the wedding dress books when my mother is having her hair cut=) P.S.S.I love the video, the story is very good! I would not mind owning the book!!!!
What a wonderful idea, dear friend! It is always so encouraging to read posts on purity and waiting. I look forward to the month of June here at Bess' Bag! :) Have a blessed Memorial Day, dear friend!
I really needed to hear that Bess. Oh, the ROMANCE of waiting and TRUE love. I'm sure there's nothing like it! There's no point in me, a 16 year old searching or crying over not finding him yet. The Lord is good and faithful, and it may be 10 years until then. Knowing He is preparing our hearts is a big way to be patient in waiting. Even thinking about weddings makes me impatient. But I long for a Warrior of the King. A prince who will call me precious.
I want to be content with where God has me. Love you Bess, thanks for this! I am definitely going to participate.
Loving the articles! So cool! I personally despise overalls! I wore them so much when I was little, that they now repulse me! :) But you look very cute in them!
What a beautiful idea! =D
